Reporting Policy

Emerging Threats receives False Positive/False Negative Reports from automated and manual tools at rulereport@emergingthreats.net.

We encourage submitters NOT to send sensitive information to this reporting channel. We will not however in any case release details of these reports without express permission from the submitter. Generally these reports will result in either a rule modification or documentation additions to this wiki.

These reports may be made anonymously, or details may be release if permission granted as being from an anonymous source. In general this is not necessary as most reports will of course result in either documentation changes or rule updates.

We encourage users to discuss items on the Emerging-Sigs mailing list (emerging-sigs@emergingthreats.net), but understand there are issues that are not suitable for public discussion or relevant to the community as a whole. In those cases please use emerging@emergingthreats.net to submit new rules or tweaks, and rulereport@emergingthreats.net to submit accuracy issues.
